What were the main problems with DC drive locomotive air conditioning systems in the past?

DC drive locomotive air conditioners are generally unstable and unreliable in operation, mainly manifested in high air conditioning power supply failure rate and poor cooling effect (insufficient power). Some simply cannot be used normally. Although the design of the air conditioning system itself and the quality of components are the reasons for this situation, the air conditioning power supply cannot adapt to the violent fluctuations of the locomotive's basic power supply and the impact of frequent starting and stopping of the air conditioning system, which is the key reason for the frequent failures and even damage of the system.
