Why install locomotive air conditioning?
2022-05-01
According to statistics from the national traffic safety department, more than 90% of traffic accidents are caused by driver fatigue. The hot summer months (especially in southern China) make the working environment for train crew (drivers and co-drivers) extremely harsh. The increased speed of trains has further impacted the ability to open ventilation windows. This poor working environment not only harms the health of the crew but also accelerates fatigue, jeopardizing operational safety. The railway transportation industry is a fundamental part of the national economy, and safe production is paramount. Therefore, improving the working environment for locomotive crews and reducing their workload has become a key focus for railway authorities and leaders. Locomotive air conditioning systems can effectively remove crew members from harsh weather conditions, which is beneficial not only for the physical and mental health of railway workers but also helps locomotive crews concentrate on observation and operation, avoiding losses caused by safety hazards and human error.
What is the basic power supply that powers the locomotive air conditioning system?
Domestic DC drive locomotives are mainly divided into two categories: diesel locomotives (Dongfeng series) and electric locomotives (Shaoshan series). The working power supply (i.e., the basic power supply) of the air conditioner on the diesel locomotive is provided by the auxiliary generator (referred to as "auxiliary generator") on the locomotive. This power supply is DC 110V+20%—30% sent to the air conditioning dedicated power supply, and then the air conditioning dedicated power supply supplies power to the air conditioning compressor and indoor and outdoor fans. The working power supply (i.e., the basic power supply) of the air conditioner on the electric locomotive is obtained by the locomotive pantograph receiving power from the high-voltage power grid, and after being converted by the chopper, it is output to the air conditioning dedicated power supply, and then the air conditioning dedicated power supply supplies power to the air conditioning compressor and indoor and outdoor fans. The system control power supply is DC 110V, provided by the locomotive battery pack. The working power supply of the air conditioner on domestic AC drive locomotives (Harmonious high-power locomotives) is directly provided by the locomotive's auxiliary converter.
What were the main problems with DC drive locomotive air conditioning systems in the past?
DC drive locomotive air conditioners generally lack stability and reliability in operation, mainly manifested in high air conditioning power supply failure rates and poor cooling effect (insufficient power). Some simply cannot be used normally. Although the design of the air conditioning system itself and the quality of components are the reasons for this situation, the air conditioning power supply cannot adapt to the drastic fluctuations of the locomotive's basic power supply and the impact of frequent start-stop of the air conditioning system, which is the key reason for the repeated failures and even damage of the system.
What are the differences between inverter and fixed-frequency air conditioners?
Variable frequency locomotive air conditioners use variable frequency compressors with a rated frequency range of 30-120 Hz and a rated voltage range of 57-228 V (three-phase AC). Non-variable frequency air conditioners use 50 Hz compressors, with fixed and unchangeable rated frequency and voltage.
What are the characteristics of the RS series variable frequency locomotive air conditioning system?
High cost performance. The variable frequency air conditioning system uses an imported fully enclosed variable frequency compressor (5-120HZ adjustable), and optimizes the V-f curve according to its characteristics, so that the system runs in a good state, overcoming the impact of the ON-OFF operation mode of the current DC drive locomotive air conditioner on the power supply. Therefore, whether in terms of product quality, structure, grade, or reliability, it has been significantly improved compared to traditional AC380V fixed-frequency (50HZ industrial frequency) locomotive air conditioners, and the price is not higher than that of traditional locomotive air conditioners.
In what areas are pneumatic container pipeline transport systems mainly used?
Pneumatic conveying systems are widely used in various fields, including: railway marshalling yard freight bill transmission, metallurgical industry sample transmission, chemical sample transmission, hospital laboratory slips and medicine transmission, and factory internal component transmission.
